Today’s challenge is inspired by a Mystical Unicorn, encouraging you to practice acting with something imaginary.

In today’s film industry, green screen and special effects often require actors to interact emotionally with elements that aren’t physically present, such as unicorns, dragons, or other creatures. This scene provides an opportunity to demonstrate your creativity and ability to connect with a character or creature that would later be added using visual effects.

INTRO:

Start your video by stating your name and age. Mention that this self-tape is for Day 15 of the Christmas Acting Challenge.

Scene:
Your character, Ana, is sitting with a magical unicorn that rests its head on her lap. While stroking its mane and neck, Ana comforts the unicorn and listens intently as it shares urgent news.

Your Character: Ana

Prop Needed: Pillow (for you to interact with as the unicorns neck and head)
 

Dialogue:
 

Unicorn: Thank you, Ana, you saved me.
 

Ana: You know not to go that way in the winter months.
 

Unicorn: But the wolves haven’t been seen in weeks—I just wanted to get here the quickest way.
 

Ana: Listen to me—we have to tell the Emperor. They’ve raised an army.
 

Unicorn: Ana! Don't worry! The elves will protect us.

 

Ana: I know they’ll try, but will that be enough?
